012 - Morphine (Pt. 1)

Errata / Corrections / Oversights

Update: Dana Colley and Jerome Deupree joined us to set the record straight for Pt. 2 of our Morphine series. Check out that episode as well.

Thanks so much to Dana Colley, Morphine’s sax (and sometimes triangle) player for listening and engaging, and setting us straight on variety of matters.

First, our biggest Huge Blunder was that we didn’t even name-check Dana himself. We knew this before we released the episode. Huge apologies for that.

Next, we should have mentioned that Billy Conway was pretty much Morphine’s primary drummer after Cure For Pain, and played nearly all the live shows from that time on, including all those many shows Waldron was privileged to see in DC and NYC in the late 90’s.

Lastly, Billy Conway passed away in December, 2021, and if we had been more careful researchers we’d have known that, mentioned it, and dedicated the episode to his memory. A really gifted musician.

Luckily for us we’re planning to do a (Pt. 2) episode soon and we’ll get the chance to reiterate these (and other) retractions/corrections in the audio feed. Hopefully Dana Colley and/or others will join us for that!

Waldron & Bill go super low and discuss Morphine:
